This primary source provided lots of new information on not only the concept of Pearl Harbor but also a bit on their time. I noticed that it must not have been easy to type up a document in the 1940s, considering how many penciled corrections there are because of the lack of some items needed to type; it is surprising to see that even the President did not have enough supplies to retype his document. This tells me that items needed to type up something in the 1930s and 1940s must have been very hard to do. Even though it mentions being the first draft, by making conclusions I can say that typing in the early 20th century must not be easy.
This primary source of a message showed me that the United States military's first concern was to save the lives of the people. By sending out these letters/messages, they were able to get many people evacuated to save as many people as they could. Also, I can see that Pearl Harbor must have had security drills before to practice if there was any dangerous situation.
This primary source showed me that the American sailors always kept their safety in mind and checked if any ship was nearby, whether to fight or just random. Since the binoculars were so big, I can conclude that technology was not too advanced; however, it was advanced enough to be able to create a well-based pair of binoculars.
"a day that shall live in infamy"
This is the quote that President Franklin D. Roosevelt had said in his speech. He was trying to say how the day that the attack was done will always stay in the American citizens' mind. He wanted to let citizens know that the victims will always be thought of as an infamous group. No matter what, Americans will stick together and fight off this day of infamy.
