There were many people involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor, but there were some who were very important.
One, by the name of Hideki Tojo was a Japanese General who was the Chief of Staff in the Army and Minister of War. Since he had an abundance of power, he was, lots of the time, thought of as a dictator; Tojo had believed in a strong and aggressive foreign military policy and had been against any ideas to take out any Japanese soldiers from areas like China and Korea. However, he did try to negotiate somewhat with the United States of America over the land conquering dispute, but he saw that there was no use of doing that and he just conducted and stated the action to attack and bomb Pearl Harbor. Then, Tojo gave his military position to a man named Umezu since several militaries started to go against Japan. A short time later in December of 1948 (7 years after the attack), he was tried and charged (executed) for war crimes.
Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto had studied back and forth between the United States of America and Japan; however, when he went to America in 1926, Isoroku developed some negative feelings and opinions towards the U.S. When Yamamoto went back to his homeland country (Japan), he became a big leader in aircraft carriers; he designed carrier-launched fighter planes and torpedoes, making Japan one of the most powerful countries and nations in the world. Isoroku was thought of as an achiever from Japan's perspective since he was the one who even though had disagreed with going to war (had to follow Tojo's orders), was the man who thought of the plan to attack the Navy U.S Fleet in Pearl Harbor. Half a year after the attack, America still viewed this man as an enemy and then an American Air Force Fighter group went and hit 2 bombers from Japan and a Zero fighter, which killed Isoroku in its way.
Doris Miller ("Dorie") was known as a hero in American history. He had enrolled into the U.S Navy to help his family with financial and economical problems; during his time, since he was an African-American, was only given the position of being a mess attendant. When the attack had occurred, Miller had went to the front deck of the ship and helped wounded soldiers get out of more harm's way. After that, he went back up to the ship's deck and helped his Captain who had deadly injuries so, he picked up a 50 caliber anti-aircraft machine gun and used it (had never done it before, wasn't even trained to use it); once out of ammo, he was told to get off the ship, since it was sinking. Doris Miller was given a Navy Cross because of his braveness that he showed while risking his life; the most important thing about this award was that Dorie was the first African-American to be given an honor this prestigious.
Captain Mitsuo Fuchida was the man who let out the entire attack on Pearl Harbor. He was an air-strike leader of the for Japan's carrier force which had hit Pearl Harbor. Mitsuo is thought of as one of the best Japanese fliers; this man had led and carried the first attack wave towards Hawaii and was successful in stealth mode. This man was a hated person for the United States of America, since he was the "leader" of the terrorizing attack.
